Despite only having two releases thus far, West London trio Babeheaven is already carving out a nice musical niche for themselves. Both "Friday Sky" and "Tick Heaven" combine lead singer Nancy's beautiful vocals with nostalgic production—a kind that's very reminiscent of cool summer evenings—and the former track in particular with its breezy vocals and laid-back synths may remind listeners of King Krule just a bit (shout-out to DIY for deftly pointing that out in their short quip about the band). Immediately pressing play on the other effort, "Tick Heaven", however, allows us access to where the song derives its name from as a slow clock tick combined with airy vocals and exotic chords create a track that's both attention-grabbing and luxuriously relaxing.
