Ok we are going to state the obvious here: On "Varsity Jacket" from London newcomer b a y o, escaping comparisons to Jai Paul is impossible. This is a very good thing and obviously a big compliment. We don't want to discredit his music by immediately comparing him to Jai Paul, but it's really hard to not hear that on "Varsity Jacket". Take it as an observation if you will, because there is no reason b a y o u does not deserve credit here. We know artists hate being compared to other artists, so we apologize, but we have to say it. On "Varsity Jacket" b a y o u's soft and subtle vocals float over a kaleidoscope of off-kilter drums & serenading synth melodies. It's an elegant affair of opulence and luxury that gives you a mental picture of b a y o u being inside a aristocratic tennis club walking around with a sweater draped over his shoulders. Don't ask why, just visualize it.... It's clear that b a y o u is just starting out, but if he can continue to pump out great tracks like "Varsity Jacket", we are definitely going to be hearing more of him.
