Azekel is not the type of artist one should take lightly. He's been plugging away for about a year now with a couple singles and and EP, but his music a far cry from the sort of half-baked production work that usually flies under the radar these days, and why he hasn't completely blown up yet is a complete mystery to us. Listen to songs like, "No Ordinary Love" or "That Feeling" and you'll quickly realize it's not just the big guns who have a monopoly on ultra-slick production work or polished songwriting. His latest track, "New Romance" is still a fusion of RnB and electronic music, but this one is much darker, and he's left a lot of the edges rough-hewn and laden with distortion and static. Every once in a while he transitions back into a more clean cut sound, complete with soft piano notes, but the magic happens when he blends the two worlds together and layers in that silky voice to give the whole thing a sense of depth the envy of pretty much every other vocalist out there. Instantly you're reminded of contemporaries like MNEK, or even SPZRKT. Azekel's sound is different then those other two, but the power in his voice is undeniable, and it's clear he's got what it takes to run with the best of them.
