London producer and overall talent Azekel has already impressed us in the past with his forward-thinking take on R&B, and his latest piece, "Mad About The Boy", sheds a slightly distinct, more buoyant hue of his aesthetic. Part of an upcoming EP entitled Raw Vol. 1, there's no question that the UK resident is set to ascend amid his vocal peers, simply due to his consistently polished delivery and ability to effortlessly exploit his own instrumentals. "Mad About Boy" instills a funk-filled atmosphere quite early on, as Azekel dives in when desired and effortlessly ricochets off the vibrant drum patterns and erupting chords. Fellow Londoner Shanaz Dorsett makes a cameo appearance, too, and it's one certainly fitting, as her sultry voice adds an intriguing subtlety to the piece.
