Azekel is back, and this time around, the dark, brooding sounds of "Chronophobia" will get you excited about the budding artist all over again. His last release finally saw his work break into a larger audience, and this track is set to replicate that success and bring his brand to even higher peaks. The sound on this one is just as low-end-focused as his other work, but there's a richness to his sound that has evolved a bit, and the new music he's making is just that much better to listen to. It's not quite as minimalistic as somebody like Nick Hakim's, but the undulating bass and stabs of brass that punctuate the production work are just as refined and compliment Azekel's experimental style perfectly. As always, his vocal work really rounds out the listening experience, but this isn't the kind of singer-driven track that looses steam halfway through because the music itself isn't up to snuff. Each and every pulse of sound that slides under the vocal melody propels "Chronophobia" with a power that's hard to discern at first, but is just as effective as anything else out there right now. Azekel still has a long way to go before he becomes the household name he deserves to be, but he's definitely on his way, and he can't get there soon enough.
Azekel
