ATTU is an unfamiliar act to HD (prior to today, of course), but we're getting a nice introduction to the North London-based four-piece through HD-frequenter and fellow Britain Turtle's lovely, lovely, lovely remix of "We Are Ordinary People", the group's lead track from an upcoming EP of the same name. Now, before we delve into the interpretive effort too deeply, it's necessary to note that the original is quite extraordinarily epic in its own right—easily and effortlessly palatable to those with a taste for soft vocals and proud instrumentation that twist together into a high-rising, euphoric indie-electronic sound—but, even with that understood, we just can't deny Turtle's delicate additions to the track. The beauty out of the original is extracted and amplified tenfold by the Glasgow-based producer, and the result is something stunningly serene. There are a whole host of genres at work on Turtle's remix, each influencing effectively the sound from beginning to end, and they make for a sound that cares about keeping our attention and affection high. A slew of swirling keys, an absolutely resounding-sounding trumpet, subdued samples, chilled synths, D&B infusions, and, of course, the aforementioned indie-electronic mantle, all come beautifully alive on Turtle's work, and you can tell he's as much respect for ATTU's version as his own given the epic nature of the sound he's kept, albeit, in a hoisted fashion. Really, you'll be impressed with the grand elegance of the work—awed from the myriad instrumental inclusions and tenderly high-reaching vocals—and you'll no doubt have an increased (or newfound) appreciation for all the artists involved here. Their sounds—captured here in tandem (miraculously enough)—are aglow with loveliness, and it's advised you get familiar with all work previous of theirs after absorbing yourself completely in the remix here featured.
