Atlas Bound

Talk

One of the perks of constantly scouring the internet to find quality music is that we get to observe the evolution of fledgling artists as they each discover their own personal musical trajectory. It's great to experience, and as far as those trajectories actually go, they seldom get better than the current path Sydney electronic act Atlas Bound is finding itself on. In the space of a few short months, we've witnessed their inception with the release of an incredible set of singles including Hillydilly-featured tracks “Dream” and “Lock”—the second of which happens to be a seductive Chet Faker rework that saw the two nominated for the Stoney Roads Breakthrough Producer award and take home a $20,000 creative development grant courtesy of Bose. That's not too bad at all for an act that only created their Facebook profile in late April, but like many others we've seen wrestling with success, they're not satisfied yet. No, to top off their already-impressive year, they've decided to share some more new music. That "new music" comes in the form of their latest single, “Talk”, and the effort definitely represents the smoothest we've seen the Atlas Bound boys to date. Their soulful lyrics seem to bask in the warmth of an almost syrupy concoction of deeply muted basslines and subtle keyboard arrangements—proving to be a delectable bite from a duo whose musicianship seems to grow exponentially with each outing. If they keep this same momentum going forward, we think, then their upcoming EP is going to be stratospheric. Mark our words.
