New York based indie-pop duo, ASTR, is at it again, and this time they’ve decided to tackle the recent Drake release, “Hold On We’re Going Home.” It’s a solid cover, but what really sets it apart from the pack, is that they’ve left that slow-burn quality from the original largely untouched. Instead of chopping up the melody, or drowning it in synth chords, Zoe and Adam relied on a masterful use of ambient sounds, and textures, to differentiate their version from Drake's. Zoe’s voice seems almost tailor made for the lyrics, and the song as a whole has been worked through with great care. With Their new EP rumored to be around the corner, this latest release is the perfect track to keep up the momentum ASTR has been enjoying as of late.
