In a genre that either lulls you to sleep or sweeps you off your feet, indie-folk (as broad as that description admittedly is) can be pretty polarizing for some people. However, with the up-and-coming Icelandic singer, Ásgeir, we predict that he will attract not merely people who love the genre, but also those who have an open-minded appreciation for music in general. On his new single, "Torrent", we find the amalgamation of electronic & alternative infused within his absolutely pristine vocal timbre that causes bliss to literally exude from your speakers. At the tender age of 21, Ásgeir already has the best-selling domestic debut album in Iceland's history. Think of him as the Lorde of Iceland in terms of how fast he has risen in the last year. In 2014, Ásgeir will look to take his talents to the English language with the release of his debut, In The Silence, on January 27th worldwide through One Little Indian. We've had an early listen to the album, and lets just say when it drops, it's going to impress A LOT of people.
