After taunting us with a rather alluring piece one month ago, Artis has just dropped their complete project, Floating Among The Fallen, and it’s nothing short of spectacular. With the guiding vocals of Sophie Orchard throughout, they're able to prompt powerful sentiments through every one of the four efforts found within the body of work. The EP commences tenaciously with "Falling For You", a track that has within it pulsating synths, numbing harmonies, and Sophie’s echoing vocals. This piece evolves swiftly, with impeccable transformations of attacking synths and intricate drum patterns before giving way to the second track, "Headspace". "Headspace" represents a smooth transition from the preceding piece, and Artis induces a rather unexpected mellow vibe on it. Orchard exploits the chord progressions with her downright hypnotizing voice, as the duo quickly takes over the piece with an orbiting synth that drops in fiercely enjoyable fashion. The latter half of Floating Among The Fallen initiates with the effort we featured a month ago, and it is yet another ideal progression to the previous track, with dazzling chillwave synths and marvelous drums inspiring sustained interest. The final track, "Surfaced", glimmers as Sophie strikes for the final time, and Artis shows off with some preposterously forward-thinking sounds and sequences. The track is more than a fitting conclusion to the EP, as Artis employs an assortment of evolving synths to manipulate and appreciate Orchard’s gorgeous vocals, and we're really, really hoping this isn't the last time we'll be hearing the two parties together.
