When we broke Ark Patrol several months ago, we had no idea he'd continue to tantalize us later in the year with his ultra-exotic and wildly distressing electronic. He was merely a Bandcamp "gem" at the time—a rare "find" among a slew of other artists far below average in comparison. His track, "Tokyo", swept us off our feet, took our breath forcefully away; and put us inside a dimension of sound we hadn't yet been privy to. That's hard to do, and though we were obviously impressed with the effort, we could have easily just chalked it up to a lucky sonic stab. As we've seen with several spectacular remixes since, however, the Hawaaiian producer has proved to be anything but a flash in the pan, and especially with new effort and title track "Voyager" here, we've all the proof we need to know that Ark is going to last very long into the future. As outlined above, "Voyager" serves as the title track to Ark Patrol's upcoming debut album, and it's keenly poignant vibes really string together all the efforts of his we've heard up to this point. Several hauntingly spacey synth chords and samples line the effort here, and a hose of melodic switch-ups really take listeners on a trip from its beginning to end. We love the voyage, personally, and we think any fan of progressive electronic would fall head-over-heels in love with the sounds portrayed. Look for Ark's full album to come out December 15th via Heroic Recordings. Pre-order it HERE.
