"Ark Patrol is like Flume on steroids, but with a signature Hawaiian twist", or so says Heroic Recordings, the home of the "Hawaiian wonderboy", Ark Patrol, whose track, "Tokyo", is the object of our aural affection tonight. An experimental, melancholic track, "Tokyo" takes us deep into downtempo territories with its oddly kinetic, emotional sound, and we love it precisely for this reason. It stood out to us from the three efforts on his Ambition EP (which you can stream all of HERE) and really drew us in from the start with its inviting ambiance. Such a sonic lure is perhaps to be expected from a Berklee College of Music student, which Ark Patrol is, but his unique, synth-driven sound is something extraordinary to be found on a debut work, whether or not it was shaped in a Red Bull studio. The fact of the matter is that "Tokyo" is a thing of late-night sonic serenity, and in need of dissemination as quickly as possible.
