Due to the diversity of outlets by which artists can reach fans, we have seen many modern creatives circumvent traditional pathways in favor of unconventional, and, sometimes, more successful ones, and, Aries, an artist from Orange County, California, illustrates this point with his insanely popular YouTube channel where he does two-minute beat recreations and challenges himself, also, to make beats using only rapper ad-libs...or food. (Yes, like many YouTube stars, he's quite an eclectic one.) On his channel, he posts his music, which, unsurprisingly, is also good, and his latest song, "GENIE", is featured here. The track's the type of alternative-hip-hop that's catchy and contains enough singing to simply be labeled "pop", but, whatever you want to call it, we think Aries is onto something rather unique with his sound (if we had to compare him to someone, Russ would come to mind).
