Music's ability to evoke emotion is pretty much unparalleled, and when a song is done right, it'll wrap you around its finger and take you along for whatever ride it's planned. Now, "ARCHIS" is probably a new name to most of you, but there's no arguing with their prowess as a duo, and their latest release is one of those rare tracks that will leave you feeling just a little bit different no matter how jaded you thought you were about music up until this point. The above bit should, in all honesty, come as no surprise, because "Bittersweet" isn't the work of some upstart duo, but the end result of two lifelong careers in the music business—it's filled with a passion and technical precision that's extremely rare. Comprised of singer-songwriter Dia Frampton and producer extraordinaire Joseph Trapanese, just a little bit of digging will reveal that these two have worked in the past with huge names like M83 and Daft Punk and are not strangers to the world of professional music. That being said, ARCHIS is their passion project, and it shows from the first note to the very last. Their name together is brand-new, yes, but the forces behind it have the experience to make some serious waves, and we have a feeling they'll be sticking around for quite some time on that regard. "Bittersweet" is the second released single from ARCHIS' forthcoming EP that's due out February 23 on Nettwerk Records.
