Let's get one thing very clear right from the beginning here: This latest track by Aquilo is life-giving, and it is so in one of the most soulful, groove-infested ways that we've before heard. The duo has by now proven their inability to disappoint, and with song after stunning song and one remarkable project after another, they've further enslaved us to their wonderfully melodic, dream-inducing sound. As we alluded to above, the two have had a few bodies of work out already, and with a third on the way, they've started to roll out the spectacular singles from it. Just a few weeks ago, they dropped off the soft and sultry first effort from the EP, "Better Off Without You", and today, they're back with "Put Me Down", an equally incredible affair that makes use of pop, soul, and spectacularly subtle electronic tones. It's almost embarrassing to try to come up with superlatives for their works as we try so often to do (they always seem to transcend whatever words we can come up with to describe them), but, just know that they all demand a piece of emotion investment, and that "Put Me Down", especially, is as worthy a track as any to spend your time listening to.
