If you've been staying on top of your Hillydilly game recently, then you've no doubt seen both Aquilo and Marian Hill on the site. About two weeks ago, the latter debuted a brand-new single,"Lips", and just a week after that, the former released a brilliantly emotive new EP, Human (we took to both quite impressively). Although either of the acts could be classified technically as electro-pop ones, Aquilo tends to embrace a downtempo, softer vibe, while Marian emits a hard-hitting, more bold sound. Here, however we're seeing a clash of the two with Marian Hill's remix of "Human", and the result is simply outstanding. What was once a delicate ballad has been transformed into a head-nodding electronic banger. Perhaps the most notable aspect of the track is the prowess with which Marian Hill chops, alters, and restructures the vocals, but with bass hits and trap-esque percussion also carefully infused, the collective outcome of the efforts is a fantastic one.
