Like the glassy surface of a lake on a calm day, Aquilo shimmers in their impassioned musical efforts that parlay into soul, R&B, and downtempo, and it's for moments of reflection and introspection that we turn to the music created by the UK-based duo. Their slow-moving and majestic pieces of aural art allows for such prolific temperaments, and are exactly why we look towards EPs like their own to juxtapose the daily hustle of everyday life. We've already heard the two previously released tracks, "You There" and "Part Of Your Life", but now with the two remaining unheard tracks, you can feel the propensity of how seamless and unbelievably alluring the four-track EP really is. Naturally, there's going to be a time and place for this album, but when used appropriately, there will be nothing quite like it, and for that reason alone, we find the self-titled work to be as valuable sonically as situationally.
