Anton Borin — You

Anton Borin

You

With only three pieces to his name, Anton Borin has us constantly looking out for fresh material, simply because we’ve no clue where his sound will lean next, as “You” portrays yet another side of the ever-maturing producer's sound. His previous two pieces not only displayed his unpredictable side, but also gave us an idea of how confident he is with delving into distinct sects of the electronic genre. “You” is yet another piece uncharacteristic to his previous efforts, but again, it manages to instantly gratify with the use of enthralling, heavily layered chord progressions that evolve exquisitely with the smooth, balmy bass patterns beside. If there’s one thing that remains consistent in Borin’s work, it would certainly be the flawless execution of his sampling, as ones cleanly chopped filter through an array of effects to meld beautifully into the beat. The drums are a talking point, too, as the sequences—though simplistic—sound brilliant and fuse the cut throughout. The entire effort here possesses a melancholic nuance that’s extremely addictive, and if you’re a fan of slower-paced house, there’s no doubt this piece will be to your liking.
