Antimatter People is a new quintet coming out of the UK, and they champion good music and a fresh take on psych-pop. The beat and bassline on their new track, "Mossy Grounds", are mellow, and they don't carry a lot of tension, so the whole track benefits from the laid-back low end notes, but it's the slow-sweeping chorus that really gets the effort moving at just the right speed. There are a lot of analog pieces in this one, and the electric guitar and relatively untouched vocals make it feel in some areas like an old rock track, but when all of that is stirred in with the clever production work, what could have been a relatively mundane offering is very much the opposite. Nothing is too lopsided, and the balance in the sound really goes a long way towards making the latest from the group a worthy addition to the Kitsuné New Faces collection. These guys are just getting started, and it's going to take a lot of good material if they want to break through all the white noise floating around the internet these days, but with "Mossy Grounds" as a start, they're already ahead of the game.
