We first got familiar with Perth-based singer-songwriter angus dawson. a couple years back for his debut single, "in the open.", which was a quality, ethereal piece we enjoyed quite a bit. Although his more recent material missed our mark, that's not a problem, because his latest effort unveiled today is definitely worth a listen. Entitled "Ocean In the Sky", the track utilizes a minimal, stripped-down sound to convey a sultry, minimal vibe that we absolutely love. Soft piano chord progressions and light, heartbeat-like drums cover most of the instrumentation on the track, and the skeletal production helps showcase the lyrical ingenuity and emotions within the moody, bold vocals used. There isn't anything overly special going on in the cut, but "Ocean In The Sky" still proves to be a chilling, relaxing song that's very easy on the ears, and that serves as enough appeal for us to enjoy the track.
