With his second track from two-track EP, Bells, released today through Trapdoor Records, Montreal-based producer ANDRU has solidified himself as an individual to watch eagerly out for. He’s by no means a complete newcomer to the beat scene, (his material dates back several months on SoundCloud), but he’s little more than a dozen publicly appearing tracks to his name, so he’ll be fresh (and entirely welcome) in most eyes and ears. To be sure, he’s put together a thick, bass-packed effort in “Wailin” here that really expresses his sentiment for big-textured electronic, and it’s pretty impactful, to say the least. None of the elements within go overboard or overwhelm in any way (as so many tend to do in tracks nowadays); rather, they stand stiffly out, upright, and ever-present, providing for an intelligent banger to bump anywhere and any time.
