Anderson .Paak is a relatively new name in music for those who don't dig beneath the surface, but he is by no means a rookie on the scene. He caught his biggest break in his career last year featuring on a bunch of Dr. Dre tracks on his most recent Compton album, and now, after years of releasing various projects under different alias (Breezy Lovejoy, etc.), the talented artist from Los Angeles is giving away his newest album to date, Malibu. Paak has never had more eyes (and ears) on him than he has now, and with this new album of his, he does not disappoint. His vocal is poignant and recognizable as it comes, but that's not even all that makes this record great. It's packed with big-name features (BJ The Chicago Kid, Talib Kweli, The Game, ScHoolboy Q, and more), its production pairs soulful instrumentation with hard-hitting hip-hop-like percussion, and, as a whole the album gives a feeling of passion and conviction throughout.
