Amason, a so-called "Swedish supergroup" consisting of Pontus Winnberg (Miike Snow), Gustav Ejstes (Dungen), Petter Winnberg (Little Majorette), Amanda Bergman (Hajen, Idiot Wind), and Nils Törnqvist (Little Majorette), will be releasing their debut album, Sky City, on January 27, and in case you're wondering why this matters, their debut might low-key be one of your new favorites. Amason's sound is irresistibly feel-good, it's whimsically elegant, and it's virutally impossible not to love. From the groove-infested, heartwarming nature of "Clay Birds", to the saxophone solo-serenading "Kelly" (the part comes in halfway through the track), to the soaring, glistening pop of "Yellow Moon", there's tons and tons of replay value here. So with that being said, get into our aforementioned highlights below, stream all of the album on NPR, and/or pre-order the work on iTunes.
