If you think you might recognize Alyss' name, or even her voice, you might've heard her featured on one of J Tropic's excellent tracks or on their collaborative cover of Earth, Wind & Fire's "September". On these, she established herself as an artist to watch without even releasing an original track, and now today, she's kicking off her solo career with an outstanding debut single, "The Talking Palm Tree", which debuted on BBC Radio 1. We expected Alyss shine vocally here, as she certainly does, but she can also be credited for the woozy, semi-tropical production on the track as well. Previously, we weren't sure if she was going to expand outside the realm of being just a featured vocalist, but with her debut original here, she's firmly established herself as an artist to really get excited about.
