Over the course of their relatively short career, we have seen Melbourne duo ALTA flirt with many different aspects of the electronic genre without landing in any specific subset. Their enthusiastic approach to eclectic composition ensures that we, as fans, are always kept guessing when it comes to the direction of new music, a fact that is evident once more as we premiere their new single, “Moves”. On this latest offering, we are initially met with a chaotic array of samples, ranging from martial arts whips, trumpeting elephants, and other miscellaneous, equally eccentric sounds. These disorientating elements are then expertly wrangled by producer Julius Dowson into a cohesive beat and an intriguing construct to sustain yet another delectable vocal take from Hannah Lesser, and another incredibly unique piece of music to add to a repertoire that is already brimming with originality results.
