Alma Elste is an individual you may not be familiar with, and if that's the case, you'd certainly be forgiven. The young Parisienne chanteuse and published novelist released her debut single, “Virtualism”, in the middle of last year, and it was unjustly lost in a sea of misguided, post-Lana Del Rey downer-pop comparisons. After over a year off the musical grid, however, Alma's returned, and this week, she's a brand-new single to prove what an amazing artist she is. We are led into “Heart Melter” with a reverberated woodwind scale followed with the harmonized coo that echoes throughout the track’s length. As the song enters its main body, too, it is instantly apparent that Elste has paid close attention to fine-tuning her musical composition. Each musical aspect, from the stuttering percussion, to the driving piano arrangement, all work cohesively to form an impeccably well-structured pop song, and along with the on-point production, the single exudes a confidence that we had previously not witnessed from her in the past. It's certainly a promising sign that she's heading in a very successful direction, though, so keep in touch with her works moving forward.
