Can you hear it—the impending buzz surrounding this killer track from new Sheffield artist Alfie Connor? Blasting onto the scene with his debut single, "Stranger", Connor's sound has touches of R&B, pop, and rock—all of which meld together perfectly to create something that is uniquely his own. Guiding us effortlessly from velvety verses, to his irresistible falsetto on the chorus, it goes without saying that we were hooked from the get-go of the track, and while its tone is uplifting musically, lyrically, it takes on a somewhat juxtaposed and darker feel telling the tale of a one-sided relationship. "Stranger" is making it's online debut here on Hillydilly after its radio debut on Zane Lowe's "Next Hype" BBC 1 segment, and it promises to be only the beginning of a busy few months for the artist. With a few months of studio time under his belt, Connor is readying his live show for festival season, and he'll be playing Focus Wales on April 24 and Live at Leeds Saturday, May 2. Also, although there is no word of an album on the horizon, Connor is releasing B-side track "Let it Go" alongside "Stranger", and that's sure to whet the appetite of his ever-growing base of fans.
