"Shackled Up" is the lead track from Alex Vargas' upcoming EP, Giving Up The Ghost (it's out January 22), and it packs in a lot of emotion into a falsetto-wrapped metaphor of being chained inside a troubled love. The entire notion of a ticking time bomb is, itself, heartbreaking, but Vargas' emotional yet confident delivery alongside the track's stripped, somber production make it a moving piece that should impact all it happens upon.
