It was the middle of last year when we featured a demo from Swedish songwriter Albin Lee Meldau. The piece was a departure from The Magnolia, the band for which Meldau lends his vocals, and it allowed him to explore a different aspect of his soulful sound. Some seven months later, we are finally treated to the official release of the tune, and it's perhaps sounding even greater this time around. When listening to the demo of “Lou Lou”, it was hard not to be captivated by the haunting vocals of Meldau that were accentuated by the acoustic sounds that gave them support. When it came time to produce the track with help from Björn Yttling (Peter Björn and John), however, they kept the composition minimal and allowed the vocal track to remain the true star. It is, perhaps, all the better for it now, and we cannot wait to hear what other extraordinary efforts the artist has in store.
