AGO is an upstart, experimental hip-hop collective you may not have heard of until today, but rest assured, it's one you won't soon forget after listening to their first track released early this morning. The collective is comprised only of Michigan artists, some of which we've before covered on the site (Waldo, Sango), but The SEVENth, Joose, and Famos Ame also work into the mix of the music, and they're about to explode on the scene alongside each other next month with the release of their debut project, TUEBOR. "Channel 8" is the debut effort from AGO, and the track takes the talents of Waldo and The SEVENth alongside some powerful production from Sango to produce a blustering mix of wintry realness. The effort opens with a suspenseful synth, and Waldo asserts himself afterwards with some astonishingly coherent lyricism. It's refreshing to hear someone deliver as seamlessly as he does, and it's a blessing that he's two verses on the affair, because they've each some lines that will raise your eyebrows. The SEVENth also does his thing on the track, offering a faster-paced flow that juxtaposes Waldo's own to perfection, and the weather reporting samples injected between each of the artists really works wonders to set the stage for their impressively distressing lines.
