Wonder (The Kite String Tangle Adaptation)

On the original version of this track, Adventure Club brought Danny Harley (The Kite String Tangle) into their sound, but now we see Danny himself adapting the track to give it a whole new feel. So if you're a fan of the original, but wanted more of that signature "Kite String Tangle sound" you fell in love with on tracks like "Given The Chance" and his cover of Lorde's "Tennis Court", then this Adventure Club adaptation is going to fit the bill perfectly. Gone are the big synth builds and even bigger drops, and in their place are beautiful piano melodies and hair-raising string sections. It's a beautiful thing when an artist can effectively blend pop accessibility with the refined sounds of classical music, and there are few who do it better then Danny Hartley. The whole track of his here has a soft, almost fuzzy quality to it, but the quiet production work has been countered with crisp, echoey vocals. Certain instruments, namely, the strings, cut through the dreamlike fog with a stark clarity, and emerged is a listening experience that's hard to replicate. The adaptation as a whole is another massive hit from the Australian solo artist, and although the success of "Given The Chance" raised the music world's collective expectations to rather astronomical levels, he seems to be meeting them with ease, as this interpretation of "Wonder" brilliantly illustrates.
