As days wear on, so too do our tastes, musically and otherwise. We're not as apt to turn up with tunes as the evening rolls around, nor are we eager to scale things back during the day (especially not with the warm weather coming). Certain songs elicit certain reactions, both internal and external, and depending on the time of day, they're either accelerated or inhibited. Thankfully, we've a wide variety of tracks to get the emotions across, and because of the easy access to them, we've the ability to set up daily sonic itinerarys if we so choose. It's a pretty abstract concept, admittedly, but one worthy of consideration. Of course, what would such an itinerary mean if not for the time-sensitive music comprising it? A plan is only as good as the steps that support it, and it's the same way with the music here. UK producer Adolescent has come to the rescue with his midnight-minded "K-TV", though, and if any sound is to spearhead the kind of vibe to expect around the time of day, it's it. There's an unmistakable M83-esque energy in and around the track, and the slow, celestial synths within really do a number to lull the listener into a deep trance. It's no worthless hypnotism, though; it's surreal, sublime, and evocative to the point of nostalgia, making it an excellent candidate for your favorite late-night listen. "K-TV" comes from the producer's Golden Halls EP, set to drop May 12th on KLDSCP.
