On "Quiet Desperation", Swedish singer Adiam reflects on the end of a painful relationship. It's not exactly uncharted thematic territory in pop, we know, but his gorgeous melodies and powerful vocals make the song way more than just another breakup ballad. Over a booming, restless beat, Adiam displays a truly special level of songwriting, and, while the whole track is impressive, the song's second half is probably the best example of this here. Robyn-like heights of melodic prowess are reached with what sweet, nostalgic hook and ultra-catchy chorus are used, and, because it's not every day we can talk about an up-and-coming artist and the other, more veteran one together like that, we're going to go ahead and say you should keep a close eye on her when her second EP at the end of March comes out.
