Adam Smith isn't new to the production game; in fact, the track here isn't even itself that new, but if "These Shores" isn't the definition of a hidden gem, then we don't know what is. The song is a darkly colored piece, without an ounce of unnecessary texture or sound, but what really clinches Adam the win is the piano-driven intro and the indigenous production work that melts perfectly in the background. The software stays hidden for most of it, but every so often the digital elements rear their head, chopping up the notes, and making you feel almost like the recoding is glitching out. As the piano gives way to an increasing number of layers, the bass gets lower, and the whole thing really starts to build some power. It's not the fastest-paced song, but listen to it all the way through, and be amazed at how much Adam was able to pack into two minutes and fifty-five seconds of music.
