Like the quirky message it accompanies, the debut track, "In The Mirror", from Lisbon-born, Paris-based pop artist A-CAT is highly eccentric. It's led by a constant, arpeggiating synth, and although you'd expect it to be repetitive and boring over the course of the track, it's anything but, because with Anne-Catherine's (A-CAT) soft and sweet vocals attached, there's a curious sonic aesthetic that'll have you satisfied throughout. Here's the message alluded to above: "As Hemingway says, « a cat has absolute emotional honesty ». Music is the way I choose to express and share with you feelings, emotions, with everything it implies… Sometimes confused, introspective, dark other times sensual, coloured, intense, or all of these at the same time... There are too many meanings for « meow » so I’d rather adopt human words for the lyrics and music as a universal language. Like a cat loves to be at home, I’d love my music to find a new home in your ears & heart !"
