Bet Dap Goom Bown

20syl has established himself as one of our favorite producers through his most recent releases, partially because of how insanely creative they are. To our knowledge, he's the first ever to remix a Rapfix Cypher, and he also plucked one of our favorite Kendrick verses of all-time, the acappella feature on Game's "The City" that he transformed into a genre-meshing jam unlike anything else. It's easy to see why the man's in a lane of his own right now, and today, he's decided to grace us again with a beat that could make any rapper's mouth water. This time around the beat block, he keeps it creative with "Bet Dap Goom Bown", a remix of a beat that he made in 1999. A flute and a harp coalesce to carry the beat's melody, while a heavy drum kit gives the song its strong hip-hop flavor. A core layer of oscillating synths provides a base for the song, coated over with constantly varying electronic nuances and echoed vocal chops, and 20syl manipulates his synths into short bursts of sound, adding yet another layer to the song's brilliance. The beat was made to promote the Boom Bap Hip Hop Festival in Reims, France, and if you happen to be around the area, we definitely encourage you to go check the artist out.
