The XX has been at the top of the indie game for some time now, and their music has always attracted some great talent when it comes to remixes, but this release by 1963 takes it one step further and really blurs the line between remix and original release. Romy Croft's vocals are heavily featured, but right away you get the impression that "Night Time" is very much from the mind of 1963. The beat pounds away as the slow-moving track explores all the different ways you can twist up an XX song, and by the end of the effort you're left with a sense that 1963 really did bring in a fresh new look to the London supergroup's sound.
